Privacy Policy

What we collect

Noted collects the minimum data needed to provide the service. When you use our cloud features (Pro plan), audio recordings are temporarily uploaded to our servers for transcription, then permanently deleted.

Audio data

• Audio is uploaded only when you use cloud transcription (Pro plan)
• Audio is deleted from our servers immediately after transcription
• Transcripts from third-party services (AssemblyAI) are also deleted after processing
• If you use on-device transcription (Free plan), audio never leaves your device

AI processing

• Transcript text is sent to your chosen AI provider (Claude, OpenAI) for analysis
• We do not use your data to train AI models
• AI providers process data according to their own privacy policies

Account data

• Email address (if you sign in with email)
• Apple ID or Google ID (used for authentication only)
• Subscription status (managed by Apple and RevenueCat)

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how Noted is used. Analytics data is anonymized and does not include any recording content, transcripts, or personal notes.

Data storage

Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and action items are stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
